Yes, we were ready and departed our hotel at 5:45 AM. How's that for devotion?
HIDs lighting up the wet parking lot. This is the first year that we have encountered rain at the Motorsport show since we've gone back in 1998.
Slowly but surely, everyone dragged themselves out of bed and loaded up the cars.
My new J-spec illuminated rear center panel.
This year, I was second in line as opposed to being first in line last year.
My JDM license plate installed onto a stealth hinged chrome license plate frame.
This is what the street looked like when the rain gave way to sunny skies.
Because there are so many pictures that I took, I am organizing them by model. I took at least one picture of just about every car. I took more pictures of the more interesting cars.
240Z, 260Z, 280Z, and 280ZX
Z31 300 ZX
Z32 300 ZX
350Z
Datsun 510 and Roadster
I'm not sure what to say. At least, when the owner was talking about his Z, he was passionate about it. Not particularly pleasing to my eyes, but as long as he likes it, that's okay I guess.
This Brickyard colored 350Z won best paint of show. Check out his ghost flames.
This guy's got an SR20DET stuffed into the engine bay of this 240Z. The amazing thing about it was that he fabricated an entire S13 dashboard and center console into this car.
Gary Meekin's Z that he brings every year from Arizona.
This Z won best work in progress car.
Dr. Dean's 600 HP Z32 TT monster.
A 260 Z with a complete 350Z drive train transplant.
I was trying to figure out what kind of bumper or cow catcher this Z had.
A Z32 with a complete Bomex widebody kit.
Nice engine bay on a clean Z32 NA.
Charles Park's white TT and Powertrix modified red Z32.
This NA won best 300ZX Z32 modified.
This 280ZX won best 280ZX modified I believe. He built this car to
Club Z Row
Mike's track monster TT. It's one of the last 300.
Salah's TT oooooops.... I mean.... Salah's NA. ;-P
Glenn's HKS GT2530 BB turboed TT.
My J-spec TT with hood mirrors, Porsche 993 Twin Turbo Brembo brake kit, and the all important IPOD connected into and controlled by my Alpine DVD system.
Rob and Kyle trying to hijack my TT. ;-)
I think Kevin tried to mess with Roddy on the drive home.
I had to take pictures of the sun's rays peeking through the clouds.
Stopping off at Carl's Jr. at Buttonwillow, we stumbled across the Lotus Elise club. They must have had a track day at Buttonwillow Raceway.
This is what I used to get us around SoCal. Nothing like an Alpine IVA D900 DVD deck with an in-dash DVD player, DVD-based navigation, a DVD-changer, Dolby Digital 5.1 surround with powered subwoofer and center channel, and an IPOD controller to help find your way, keep you awake, and pump out some tunes.
All in all, it was an awesome weekend. I needed this weekend to get away from it all. I know that my friends felt the same way. You see how much fun we had over this weekend. Hopefully, next year, I'll be able to get more people to attend the Motorsport show and show everyone how strong of a following our Z32s have. Hope you enjoyed my writeup and pictures. Unfortunately, my digicam is starting to malfunction and I may need to purchase a replacement. Must be all the pic-whoring that I do on a regular basis? Anyone wanna buy me a new digicam? ;-)
